Our Story.

In 2005 we decided to change the world, one rug at a time.
We dreamed of cozy and relaxing homes, in harmony with nature.

To achieve this, we travelled from the Andes to the dry forest, from Buenos Aires to Patagonia, to find and work with the finest weavers and artisans, with a sustainable perspective, following Fair Trade guidelines, and always honoring the ancestral values and knowledge of each community.

Constantly evolving.

Elementos Argentinos was born on one of those trips that become a turning point. We (Fernando and Pablo) were looking for a change that would add purpose to our lives and leave a mark. And, as they say, “whoever seeks shall find,” in Tafí del Valle, Tucumán, we met a group of weavers who were finding it hard to sell their products out of season. Their stories and work instantly captivated us. And that’s how we got started.

Today, 15 years later, we have a great team of collaborators, more than 360 weavers and artisans from 12 provinces of Argentina, two stores in Buenos Aires, worldwide online sales, exports to more than 10 countries and recognitions that brighten up our soul. But we enjoy being that bridge that unites people and generates opportunities, just like the first day.

ABOUT US

Imagining Elementos.

Fernando Bach

After several years of travelling and living in different places working as a hotel manager, I was ready for a personal life change and looking to start a new activity with a stronger social and creative sense.

The idea of working with high quality, handmade textiles for the home came naturally. I’m from Tucuman, and in Tafí del Valle, during those long summers and cold winters in the Calchaquí valleys, the rugs, blankets, saddlebags, “peleros” and “pullos” were a part of our daily life.

Pablo Mendívil

I majored in Design and worked for over 10 years in advertising, journalism and television. I started to visit northwestern Argentina regularly, and I was constantly amazed by its colors and textures.

The diversity, but most importantly the people, drew my inspiration for the development of this project, which allows me to combine my passion for designing decorative objects with a personal desire to be part of a sustainable company.
